Lincoln Abe is generally one of the quieter members of his shift at Firehouse Seven in San Antonio. He’s a good son and a good friend, but what he’s missing in his life is the woman he loves.
She’s not all that far from him. In fact, he’s known her since they were in high school and now, she works at his father’s diner.
Zharia Zamora loves her life. She’s in college and working surrounded by people who she cares for. The only problem is that the man she’s been in love with for years doesn’t seem to be attracted to her. He’s always nice and kind, but she’s kind of a mess when he’s around. She’s one faceplant away from moving to another country to escape the embarrassment.
People around her often say that she’s too nice. Too easy to get along with. She should be more guarded. When those cautionary words become a dangerous reality, she finds herself up close and personal with the man of her dreams.
